It looks like the Weather Channel is expanding their footprint by providing weather information for Google Maps. Normally, this wouldn’t be anything to be too concerned about - just a natural outgrowth of data availability. But in this case I suspect things like this are probably going to get pushed quicker because of Weather Channel’s impending sale. I’d say this could be something to point to for potential suitors. Who knows, if Google doesn’t win the bid for the FCC wireless spectrum auction, maybe they’ll throw that oney at the Weather Channel instead.
